Without Leaders we would not be able to offer all the wonderful opportunities we do to girls of all ages. Leaders are unpaid, trained volunteers who give their free time to run units.
Adults in charge of units are required to take the Leadership qualification and any other training that is necessary to run activities for the girls.

In 2003, there were over 50,000 girls waiting to join units across the UK. Girlguiding UK launched "Project 50K" to recruit more adults into the leadership scheme and give every girl that wants it, the opportunity to take part in the Guiding adventure. We would also value your help in a support role if you are unable to commit to helping with a unit, perhaps you have experience in admin or PR, or could help run the Guide shop. Whilst men cannot become full members, the Association welcomes their support in roles such as Unit Helper or Advisors. Each new leader has a mentor to help them through the Leadership qualification and advise on any other appropriate trainings. Training schemes for outdoor activities, overnight licences, catering and first aid are all available. We particularly welcome volunteers as Advisors or Unit Helpers who have nationally recognised qualifications in all kinds of areas from abseilling to Tai Chi, from canoeing to kung fu! Further information on becoming a leader can be found on the GirlguidingUK website. If you would like to investigate becoming a leader in the Bath Division then please contact us and a representative will be in touch. |
