South Bath District Visit Switzerland:
District
On the 28th July 2006, a group of Guides and Leaders from South Bath District (31 in total) set off from the United Reformed Church, Rush Hill for their long awaited trip to Adelboden, Switzerland.
After travelling through France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany we crossed the border into Switzerland and the real fun began! We stayed in a traditional Swiss chalet with amazing views of the mountains, Engstligen waterfall and the surrounding area. A variety of activities took place including trips in cable cars, chair lifts, tobogganning, ice skating, a boat trip, visit to Oeschinessee - a beautiful lake almost at the top of the mountain with the most amazing views, visit to wood carvers, watching a parade in Interlaken on Swiss National Day, visit to the circus, dinner and entertainment evening in Sillerenbuhl mountain restaurant with approx 200 other Guides and Scouts. A trip to Switzerland couldn't take place without a visit to Our Chalet, where one Guide took her promise for the first time and the rest of the group renewed theirs.
The trip was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. It was exhausting but above all we had amazing fun and can't wait to go again!!
