Giant Sleepover: Girlguiding UK

The giant sleepover was part of a national event open to Guides, Scouts and school groups. The main aim was for girls to have some fun whilst raising money for a good cause - CLIC was their charity. Bath South District were fortunate to negotiate sleeping over in Bath Magistrates courts - over 90 Brownies and 50 Guides plus leaders enjoyed learning about the courts from a magistrate, exploring the cells and doing lots of activities such as making identikit pictures and fingerprint pictures. Some sleep was had before having breakfast in the sunshine. Giant Sleepover nationally aimed to have 100,000 people sleeping over and was sponsored by BT.

Trefoil Guild AGM: Girlguiding UK

The Trefoil Guild arrived in Bath in June for their annual general meeting with over 1500 members in attendance. Several presentations of flowers were made for outstanding service to Guiding. Some lucky Brownies from packs across the city were chosen for this task. Many Guiders also gave up their time to help serve refreshments in the afternoon and to act as First Aiders at the evening reception. Many thanks to all who helped make the day go smoothly.
